I have to admit I like to read and hear Jonah Goldberg, author, speaker and frequent contributor to National Review. As he himself admits, he is not Christian (Jewish), but he also admires and respects Christians. Sometimes, Goldberg can be a little “colorful” though he is also very often very funny. His wit is quick. All this to say he has an article in the December 24, 2015 issue of National Review Online on the subject of Christmas. Though I have some disagreements with it at points (he is a bit too blithe regarding the means and extent of celebration at this time of year, for example), I think it does capture some of the mistakes we as Christians can make in our proper zeal for this celebration. So I commend it for your reading:

I hope all of our readers and my Berean colleagues had a very blessed Christmas. Please do take time in the merriment to specifically remember the incarnation and what was made possible because of it (and impossible without it).
