That is the question raised in an op-ed over at the NYT (hat tip to The Gospel Coalition), covering the recent video sting of planned parenthood operatives calmly (while eating lunch!) discussing how they make sure to crush the unborn child in a manner that allows them to still harvest the vital organs to sell. Yepper…well worth a watch, from his presentation at the Family Research Council last week. As the world tells us to be quiet, Mr. Grudem calls pastors to speak towards issues that Christians should be a positive influence on. I think it strikes a nice balance. What do you think? Why did he do it? The media say we may never know why Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez killed four marines

And its true; we may never know. But this is not hard, and we can be reasonably confident what the motive was–at least what the most likely motive was. It’s the same motive that drives many people, on many different issues. This includes most young people that currently support same-sex marriage, as well as Christian […]

As many conservative observers have noted, the same-sex marriage decision by the Supreme Court is not the end of the culture wars, but only the next step in an increase in the progressive push to transform our nation. This was always the lie believed by many in our culture, both Christian and non-Christian, the “can’t […]

Financial markets are on edge with Greece this a.m., as Greece banks are closed and there will be a referendum to get public permission from Mr. Tsipras to break his electoral promise and impose austerity conditions to get more aid from the Europeans. As a Euro skeptic from the beginning, I wonder when the charade […]

Technological innovations destroying jobs! Mass unemployment–starvation even. Say it isn’t so!
08 Jun 2015
One of the benefits of being …ahem..over 50 years old is perspective. Not necessarily wisdom, but one would like to think that perspective leads to additional wisdom as well. As Hayek noted decades ago in The Sensory Order, much of what our brain processes works to align what we see in light of previous activities–mental […]

Last Friday’s GDP number was horrible–a contraction of -0.7%; the revision down from an initial estimate of -0.2%. This is in stark contrast to the Obama administration crowing over 3rd qtr 2014 GDP #s, which were over 5%–so we were told that the corner had finally been turned. The administration and its defenders are quick […]
